it was our newly-formed basketball team that changed
his life. |

In the winter of 2001, Jamell wanted to start playing
on the Frontline basketball team. However, his grade-point
average fell well below the required 2.0. The Frontline
Team teaches children the importance of knowing
God’s purpose for their lives and that they
can accomplish any positive goal they set. With
that information and a lot of hard work, Jamell
not only succeeded in reaching the grade-point requirement,
but continued to improve his grades until his report
card showed nothing but 'A's! |

Jamell's success story goes beyond academics. He
has become deeply involved in other programs at
Frontline: Character Academy and Read and Succeed.
He also volunteers his after-school time almost
daily to help keep the grounds and building clean.
No one asks Jamell to do these tasks; he comes
to the ministry asking what he can do to help.
FRONTLINE OUTREACH is a ministry
dedicated to developing world-class leaders for
success and service. It is a diverse organization,
offering education and leadership programs for youth
and families in urban Orlando. Each year, 1,500
inner-city children and families benefit from the
work of Frontline Outreach. |
